Welcome back dear and devoted DC fans! We here at the DC Fan Team hope you had a wonderful weekend, and we doubly hope that you rested those tired little thumbs, because we have a lot of voting to do tomorrow night! Please pass the word - support for David A. and Jason C. is strong as ever, and we will have to fight the 13 year old powers that be to keep DC in this competition. To that end, thanks to our loyal fan Mary for letting us know that they have put a Pre-Sale back up on Amazon for Analog Heart. She is encouraging everyone to “stop downloading his music for free and show Idol the demand for AH.” We think that’s a pretty keen idea. And now for our favorite media quote from the weekend…
“Well helloooooo there, Mr. Cook. Phantom of the Opera, huh? I wasn’t worried. ”Music of the Night” has put many in the vocal grave, yet he brought it home. His wardrobe still stayed true to his rocker side. He impresses me more and more every week… He nailed every high note!!!!!!!…FANFREAKINTASTIC!”

It’s almost Tuesday and we are on the edge of our seats here at the DC Fan Team - we can’t wait for another round of A.I. and another massive DC victory. We’ve been busy working on the site - we’re putting a new site design, new music and new features into your fabulous DC-lovin’ hands, so keep checking back for new updates! Here’s what they’re saying on the web this week:
“Risks usually seem to pay off for David and this one did. The song built from a quiet acoustic number into a true haunting rock ballad. He can make anything memorable.”

As a beautiful weekend approaches, the only thing better than spring weather is the thought of David cleaning up again next week on Idol!! Thanks to all who have been posting other news items on the site - there’s so many fantastic things being said about our boy, we here at the DC Fan Team can’t seem to keep up! You all are the reason David is still here and we love having your help as the DC Fan Team grows and grows. Have a great weekend and enjoy this parting bit of commentary:
His creativity is mind-blowing. I was racking my brain of MC knowledge, trying to figure out what he would choose. Always Be My Baby NEVER crossed my mind. It was absolute genius. This NEEDS to be on his album, win or lose. Best of the Night.

DC Disciples unite! Yesterday, this site had over 2800 hits in 24 hours, proving without a doubt that David is and always will be a Rock God. Count yourselves among the lucky- we here at the DC Fan Team, and all of you faithful followers who have been here since the beginning knew long ago that David was something special. So continue to tell your friends, and let’s change American Idol history, upset the favorite and give DC the win!!!
”He took one of Mariah Carey’s biggest hits and retold it from a male’s perspective while removing the polish to reveal the song’s rougher edges without compromising its raw meaning. Oh, and by the way, this just might be the best performance in American Idol’s history”

So many fabulous blogs to pick from…However does a Fan Team choose? Despite feeling like kids in a candy store, today we’re going to keep it short, sweet and to the point:

We here at the DC Fan Team LOVE all this talk about David vs. David for the finals of A.I.!! What a spicy and delicious idea - The little kids vs. The big kids. PC vs. Apple. Starbucks vs. Dunkin’ Donuts. This will be a glorious battle and we will be there to support DC all the way! As if you needed another reason to join our ranks, all hear this:
“Cook is the best overall performer by leaps and bounds in this competition. His sound is edgy, and…his performances have been masterful. He truly is a star in the making and no matter where he ends up on American Idol he will have a very successful recording career and one can guess a ton of sold out concerts.”

Though our thumbs have officially fallen off from voting so much last night (Did you vote?) here are we are, bright and early, dilligently bringing you the best David Cook content on the web! The DC Fan Team does want to take this opportunity to bring up one small thing, however. In last week’s newsletter, we gave you, our loyal readers, the chance to challenge the Fan Team to a street fight. No takers. What’s up with that?!?!? Our Creative Director was totally ready to rumble… oh well. For today’s Rock Report, we bring you an amusing post of our friend “Superhush’s” blog:
I know the folks over at David Cook the American Idol are going to love this. Yesterday on Larry King idol judge Simon Cowell was quoted:
“It will be David versus David. That’s what I predict,” said Cowell during an appearance on Monday’s Larry King Live broadcast. “That will be a good final.”
Well nuts, I just looked over at David Cook the American Idol and sure enough, they’re already on the ball with this one. Checkout their coverage, here (I should’ve known better than to try and out David Cook that site).

We’re pulling out the big guns today, folks! Randy, Simon and Paula were on Larry King Live to promote Idol Gives Back and they certainly gave our boy high marks!
“David Cook: A favorite and strong contender
JACKSON: He is definitely one of my favorites. I think he’s got a shot at winning the whole thing, this kid.
ABDUL: He’s amazing.
JACKSON: Love him.
COWELL: This is the guy I would actually choose to listen to on a personal level.
SEACREAST: Well, he certainly sounds like [the favorite] based on what the judges said but I think he also has sort of broken down the walls of this competition. He is not just a traditional pop artist. I like him.”

Happy Monday to all! Hope you had a wonderful, DC-filled weekend. We here at the DC Fan Team have been busy with updates to the site, so for all of you waiting for new music, pictures and more, thank you so much for your patience, and we promise you’ll have it all by the middle of this week! In the meantime, another nugget from David’s performance last week:
“He opened the piece with almost no accompaniment to better showcase his voice, and his vocal control is just amazing. Like Daughtry and Bo Bice from seasons past, David has a “rock” timbre to his voice but the most beautiful tone…
This was as we’ve come to expect from [David], which is good. [He] didn’t slip at all in the quality of [his] performances as others have done…. [His] voice is a real find and a real treasure this year”
