David Cook, American Idol

Help David Win

So, we’re all friends of David Cook here, but to help take him through to the finals your humble DC Fan Team wants to enlist your help. We’re switching gears now from just trying to showcase his work to making this a campaign to help David win!!! We’ve put together a list of some of the things you can do to help. Any of these will help, and the more you have time for the better we can do. In no particular order…

1. Spread the word - The best thing we can do is start actively posting for David Cook on all the other AI blogs that are out there. This isn’t hard, just google “American Idol Fan” and you’ll come up with dozens. Take 5 minutes a day to find a blog, sign up for a free account and post something up expressing your undying love for David. Or a simple mention of why he should win. Whatever floats your boat.

2. Use Social Bookmarks - You may have noticed a little box that says “Share This” at the bottom of our posts and pages. You may not realize how powerful this little button can be to help get the buzz it will take for David to win. All of these icons represent different sites called “social bookmarking” sites, that let large groups of people give a virtual thumbs up to a post. Let’s promote the “201 reasons” page because, frankly, we’re pretty proud of our work here at DCTAI and think the world could use a laugh. And a plug for David Cook. To give your approval, click on the “Share This” button, and then choose any of the icons. Each site usually requires a quick registration. (This is a time where a spare Hotmail account comes in handy) Everytime someone from our sites gives a thumbs up to the 101 Reasons article, more people will stumble on the site and the search engines will start listing the site higher in their results. All of this means MORE BUZZ FOR DAVID!

3. Include our website - we’ve done the hard work of setting up the programming for this site to let all the search engines know when we’ve made any changes. Anytime they see a link to www.DavidCookTheAmericanIdol.com on another site, the search engines give us a little bit of credit. Before long, they start to show our site higher in the rankings which means… drumroll please… MORE BUZZ FOR DAVID!

4. Download his music on iTunes - Not only is the iTunes popularity rating a good barometer for an AI contestant’s success, but music industry execs will undoubtedly consider these ratings when offering music contracts (possibly giving them even more weight than AI results!)

5. Post the videos - If you have a blog or MySpace profile, show off David’s videos. Simon and big bad Fox made him take all his songs and videos off the internet before this season began, but a few loyal fans have dug new videos out and posted them for the world. We’ve done the hard work, now all you have to do is copy and paste. If you include the code below, feel free to add a mention to www.DavidCookTheAmericanIdol.com and help build… MORE BUZZ FOR DAVID!

    For some reason, I paste this code on my myspace profile, and it erases most of it when i go to view it, and it doesn’t show anything! I’m not a complete computer idiot, but is anyone else having problems with the code? :*)

    another suggestion - buy his performances on itunes. the powers that be will surely be noting itunes sales, and the better those sales are, the more support he’s likely to get on the show.

    I love David Cook for one simple reason…no one has moved me musically like he has for a very long while. There are lots of artists out there I really like but David Cook has a quality about him that defies explanation for me. Enough said, oh he is cute too.

    My friends and family are really tired of hearing me about it. My grandma actually watched the last show. Haven’t talked to her about it yet - I wonder what she thought.

    I have every AI video and song he has on ITunes. I also bought his Axium CDs at walmart. And can I just say they are AWESOME, as is David Cook.

    Here’s the stuff about Cook:

    Of the seven left, it seems pretty obvious to me that the one person poised to sell multiple albums and sell out shows is David Cook. He has that Daughtry/Live sound but he also looks like he wants to be on the show — which Chris Daughtry occasionally had trouble with. Cook flirts shamelessly with the girls in the front row and appears to want this title and everything it comes with — promotional appearances, kissing babies, the Today Show, etc. Maybe he’ll even sing an inaugural song for whoever is elected in November. He seems game.

    PLEASE VOTE AS MANY TIMES AS POSSIBLE so that he’ll wins AI that he deserves!
    We will not have anyone else to blame but ourselves if (god forbid), DC loses to DA bcuz we didn’t vote! Please don’t let down such an amazing singer & wonderful person like our beloved DAVID COOK.
    Make sure all ur frens,family members & YOU send in hundreds of VOTES for DC next week & in the finale.
    I know some people don’t want him to win so that he’ll have more creative-control on his album or believe that he doesn’t need AI winner title to be successful like Daughtry….but i REALLY WANT DC TO WIN!!!!! He is undeniably the hands-down BEST and he deserves it the most!
    In an interview David C said he thinks his edge is: “I know that nobody can say they’ve WORKED HARDER for this or have WANTED IT more than me.”…..Clearly,he wants to win AI more than anything. We all have experienced defeat in our lifes & we know the feeling sucks so bad.so do u guys want DC to feel that pain? do u guys wanna hurt someone that u love so much?……..I’m sure u dont….

    PLEASE VOTE FOR DAVID COOK THE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL!!!!

    I never even cared about American Idol or who won this competition until one night I was channel surfing and saw David singing on the stage. He grabbed my attention IMMEDIATELY. This kid’s got a great voice, musical talent, brains, and character. I IMMEDIATELY downloaded his music from itunes. I have been a faithful watcher now ever since he cracked the top 20. I teach in a high school here in PA and just about all the teachers here are fans of David…and the kids, too! We love his take on different songs like the Sparrow song and of course, Always Be My Baby. I am doing my part and voting. But even if he doesnt win the competition, I believe he will go on to become a big star and sell lots of CD’s. David- you are building a huge fan base. Keep it going…and do your own thing!!!
