David Cook Bio
David Cook. It’s been said he’s human, but there are doubters. You see, there’s not much record of young David Cook. Much like the brothers Romulus and Remus who went on to found Rome after spending their childhood suckling a wolf mother, David seems to have come from the wilderness with nothing but gumption and some incredible pipes (industry lingo for vocal cords). If current robot technology were able to replicate such a fine specimen, one might confuse him for a cyborg – but barring that, one must assume he has descended here from another world altogether.
David Cook’s path through life is storied. Rising to greatness in high school then refusing to move from his perch of incredible-ocity. He’s shown a passion for entertainment, no matter the venue. There’s even been a story that David Cook one time entertained some one so much, they died from it. This story has never been confirmed but the reputation follows Cook wherever he goes. So has the nickname, “Killer.”
The moral of David Cook? Don’t play with fire if you don’t want to get burned. Don’t look into his eyes for longer than 6 seconds, any longer and you’re likely to turn into stone, either that or some kind of putty that he can mold into whatever form he wants with his epic hands.
He’s our idol. He should be America’s Idol.

“David Cook’s good looks and witty humor can draw a crowd but it’s his outstanding ability as a musician that keeps them coming back for more. The smile of a boy, the sounds of a man, David transcends the typical boundaries that usually defines an artist. As a Kansas City transplant, David’s background combines the musicality of jazz, the catchy hooks of modern pop, and the raw sounds of Tulsa’s historic rock. Such diverse influences have provided David an honest and appealing versatility. David is today’s Midwest musician.
David’s style exhibits the highest caliber of musicianship and his unerring skills as a guitarist give him a fan base that sets the intelligentsia of the music community side-by-side with the popular high school crowd. David’s straight forward lyrics are, “A little dark, but not depressing a little edgy, but not scary. It’s strong, feel-good, soul strengthening music!” according to Midwestbands.com. His soaring vocals are both rough and sweet in the same breath and the radio-ready lyrics of Fall Back Into Me and Silver are devoid of the cynicism that usually plagues coast rock. David comes across youthfully optimistic and knowingly mature. And the melodic guitar in Don’t Say a Word is a shoe-in candidate for the next edition of Guitar Hero.
David has toured throughout the Midwest and has shared the stage with several big names, including: Caroline’s Spine, Bowling For Soup, Maroon 5, Fountains of Wayne, Happyendings, Smashmouth, and 8STOPS7. As the former front-man of the Kansas City band, Axium, David has already built a formidable fan base. In 2004, David’s former band was named Kansas City’s best local band and in 2006, they were recognized among the top 15 unsigned bands in the “Got Milk? Contest.” David’s voice has also been heard in movie theaters across the country as a featured Movie Tunes artist.
His debut solo album, Analog Heart, was recently named the 4th best album of 2006 by Music Equals Life. Of David’s music, they said, “This is by far the best CD to come out of the Tulsa, OK scene…” Songs from the album are receiving regular airtime on Kansas City and Tulsa radio stations and prior to American Idol, David was in Tulsa recording the follow-up album to Analog Heart.”

I’m totally getting your performance of hello on Itunes. How on earth did you manage to make a song I actually hated into something so addicting! David Cook should win American Idol. The best finale would be him and Carly Smithson in the finale. They are the only two that can really sing and fit in today Pop and Rock markets.
As for David, I would not watch the show if it were not for him and I plan on buying his CD. He does have charsima, and he is smart…I like that in an idol.

Wow, I am so amazed at how besotted I am with this guy. Lately, I think about him constantly, have listened over and over to his AI performances and the band’s songs on the web, and now am determined to get his Axium CD’s. He is incredibly hot and sexy, and SOOO CHARISMATIC (Simon must just be jealous, you think?) & beyond talented. Just gets better and better each week and he’s only 25. OMFG. What a whole package, those knowing eyes just make us melt when he looks into the camera, and the way he rocks that guitar back and forth, MMMMM. Yummy. I have always watched American Idol and have son’s older than you but I grew up during the greatest music time of all in the 50’s I love the great bands from 60-80’s…You are the first one as a rocker than has even got me listening in years. Both my husband and I like you music… Your take on Billy Jean was better than Jackson’s and that is saying allot. We like Eric Clapton, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Hendrix and of course The Beatles. David Cook, when your eyes shine and you smile, it is obvious you are doing what you were meant to do–sing! You do make it look so easy. Your words are always clear and your voice is so much more refined than the other Idol contestants. I used to think it was silly to get so “wrapped up” in a particular singer, but you are extremely talented and I have listened over and over again to your Idol performances. I enjoy them so much. You have a God-given talent and if you remember that, you will always enjoy singing and we will always enjoy listening.

i swear, after D.C.D. (David Cook Day), i have fallen in love with our rocker all over again. i was so lucky i worked a night shift that friday so that i would be able tostay after school and see Davids assembly and concert. he sounds so much better in person, speaking and singing. i love his voice even more. as soon as he has a concert near mine, im buying tickets, no matter the price, it will be so worth every penny, nickel, and dime.

I only started watching AI when I saw you perform. You easily have the best singing voice I’ve ever heard.
