Ladies and Gentlemen, DC Fans young and old, today is a special day. A special day that calls for a special Rock Report. No news, no blogs, no accolades. Because today, TODAY our friends, we must fulfill our destinies as DC Fans and send the most talented musician ever to grace the Idol stage to an epic and hard won VICTORY! Get out your phones, invite your friends over, tell your parents and your puppy dog you’ll only love them if they vote.
This is our plea, from the DC Fan Team, to you, almost-members of the DC Fan Team. The place is here, the time is now, and the world is ours for the taking. Vote for DC and ensure a better place for your children and your children’s children. And their iPods.

That is cool about DC’s brother… I read an article a few days ago that said that opposite, that his brother was too ill to make the trip again. Glad he can be there to cheer his brother to VICTORY!!!!
I am so stoked that Adam was able to make it. I was hoping everyone would raise enough money to send him. But then again, all of Missouri probably helped out there too. He will be twice as good as usual because his brother will be there. Wouldn’t it be cool if he didn’t know Adam was going to be there and Ryan Seacrest brought his brother on the stage before he performed???? I do think it’s awesome that he’ll be there for David. I think David wanted Adam to be there just as bad as he wants to win. Not only does David and us depend on it….but let’s not forget the rest of the world!!!!! Well I guess that’d make me a woo hoo girl too. I’ve never been one………TIL NOW!! WOOO HOOOO David Cook FTMFW!!!!!! Love you, David!!!!! Rock us like a hurricane!!!! Y’all remember that post I was telling y’all about earlier. I found it. It was written by Erin Carlson of the Associated Press. The part I’m going to post is what Nigel Lythgoe, the producer of AI, said about the 2 Davids.
“Whoever wins on `Idol’ will be as hugely successful” as previous contestants Underwood and Chris Daughtry, Lythgoe said.
One thing is for certain: Both Davids will win record contracts with Sony-BMG, which signs the show’s winners and popular runners-up, so they’ll be OK either way.
Oh I am just loving this!!!!! GO DAVID…..I will have my phone, my husband’s, my oldest son’s, and my youngest son’s phones on hand will all David’s numbers on speed dial.
It’s so comforting to know that I am not the only one who has been converted into a “woo-woo” girl by all of this. I’m all about it now though.

I am a woo-woo girl as well. We’ll all be crazy together. I just can’t fathom why I am so in love with this Cook guy. There are of course a million reasons, but really, I’ll never meet him. I don’t care. I still can’t wait to see him tonight and hear his voice and hopefully the news is correct that Adam will be there. I love his mom too, she is beautiful. I have never in my life felt this way about someone I do not even know personally. What will we do next week? Watch youtube I guess. At least we will be able to watch the entire tour on youtube. I am moving to Indianapolis in November. Close, but not quite Cookie country.

I agree with some other comments I’ve read elsewhere - The World I Know was HIGHLY underrated by the judges. He was brilliant. He’s got his heart on his sleeve and he’s doing what he’s gotta do, what he’ll do I HOPE for the rest of his life. Love it, love him.

Voting just ended in my time zone. I voted the entire four hours without stopping, and used two phones at once for the final three hours. I hope David can pull off the win. It’s gonna be close.
I think David explained it perfectly when he said that American Idol is a progression, and singing Billy Jean or Eleanor Rigby would have been going back to something he already did. When you do something you already did, you also risk the chance that some mean judge will say, “Not as good as the first time…” I love “The World I Know” and it was a brave, unexpected choice. Go Cook Go!
I thought the judges were too hard on him last night….
I mean come on. David A did better than David Cook in ALL the 3 rounds? I don’t think so. What is wrong with these people? Are they on crack?
I felt so bad for DC, though. I thought he could’ve rocked out a little more, but what he did was great! And when he started to cry, I wanted to cry too. These judges have no idea how DC effects our lives.
Ugh, and when DA sang the 1st song over for the 3rd round, I wanted to throw up. I thought that was the worst move to make. But, of course, the judges have something against sexy, talented, funny, gorgeous, AMAZING men.

I love love love David Cook as an artist. I find it unfortunately that everyone is already giving this David and Goliath story to the wrong David.
David Cook has earned this, he has made risks and should be rewarded. I believe that we need to Dream Big, because if we don’t then what’s the use in dream. We need faith too, or what is the point in believing. I love that song!
I believe David Achuleta is going to bomb. He can’t sing comtempoary tunes. They are going to make him sing stupid old ballads and not anything else. That is all that he can sing, no variety! He can’t sing worth a darn!!!!!!

I agree that he seemed a little unusual last night. I guess I would to though, with it being his final performances, not to mention Adam being there. I also think Andrew Lloyd Weber made a poignant observation when he said David had to watch his voice. He sings his heart out in every song and his voice is probably getting tired. I, like Mexican Maggie, sure hope everything is ok. I really hope he wins, but if for some awful, unspeakable reason he doesn’t, then Sony BMG will be ridiculously stupid if they don’t sign him. They would be loosing billions of trillions of dollars if they don’t! I haven’t admired an artist as much as David Cook for an incredibly long time. To have the kind of talent he does, and yet to be so humble about it…not to mention how much he cares about everyone else (his family, fans, and other contestants). That makes for one INCREDIBLE individual! At least now, young kids can have one more positive rock role model because there aren’t a lot of those these days.

Y’all are not going to believe this….but I didn’t get to see one minute of the show last night. I was only able to hear the performances on rickey.org this morning. My kids had a makeup baseball game last night and instead of taping the show like I asked my husband to…..he “forgot”. I was so upset I actually cried. I wanted to see our David sing. But I did read some of the judges critiques….and from what I gather, they are pushing for the other little shit to win. Doesn’t matter though, our David is going to blow him out of the water in record sales. I would just rather see our David win that’s all. But then again, AI isn’t going to do that to the other one. They know that if he’s not crowned the winner he’s liable to curl up into the fetal position and cry. From what I heard, our David sang circles around the other one. The only song his voice didn’t crack on was Don’t Let the Sun….and still he didn’t do all that great like they said he did.
As soon as I get the chance, I’ll shoot you an email Kath. I’m at work and I am SUPPOSED to be working but I’m trying to catch up on what I missed last night. I think I will need a partner for rehab….but I am not quitting this addiction just yet. He’s got too much in store for us to quit now. Maybe when I’m old, gray, can’t hear too well, and forget where I put my dentures….I might. But then again I can’t make any promises!
I vote cook……I agree with everything you just said. Don’t apologize for venting….I was pissed when I read all that crap about little David winning way before the cards were laid out. It’s not that the judges have anything against our David. Matter of fact, Simon really likes him. But they had to talk up the other one because they know the other won’t do as great as our David will at selling albums and concert tix.

I agree, 78closegate. Archuleta may win the show, but it’s record sales that really matter. And we all know that David will blow Archuleta out of the water with his record sales.
I just found something out that all DC fans will be happy to hear. I was watching the news, and they had a story about these people who can somehow watch how many votes each person on AI gets. And guess who they said got more votes in the end? …Our very own David Cook!
Now, they also said that this isn’t exact, because there are hundreds of votes coming in a short period of time, but they are positive that David Cook got more than David A. So, if Cook loses, then we know that AI is fixed. And if it isn’t, David Cook fans all around America shall rejoice! 
David MUST win! I’m sure I used more than the 850 txt msgs I had left in my plan that I added last week just for him! And I got in LOTS of landline votes too. Used both phones for all 4 hours, til the last second, til I got the txt back that the lines were closed, please. Once again, he was AMAZING. I don’t know WHAT the judges were hearing. Their comments didn’t affect who I want to win, who is the best ARTIST, whose music I will spend money on, who I would go see live in concert, who I LOVE. The World I Know was…just something else…indescribable. F-ing perfect. He is perfect. Of course, loved ALL his songs last night. He rocked, he sang his heart out, he was smokin’. He left it on the stage. I was thrilled that he gave us a new song too, at that moment in this stupid contest, because it was what HE needed to do. Well done. Well COOKED. Perfect. Lovely. Beautiful. Do you have ANY idea what you do to us, David? David. David. David Cook. Love you, sweetestheart. My heart & hopes & wishes are with you & your family. Really, I love you.
Don’t know what Simon was smoking last night. There was a knock out, only it was Cookie crushing Archie. The U2 Song was AMAZING. Great arrangement, keeping true to original but adding his own spins. Cookie looked and sang great. I voted until my dial fingers felt early onset of carpel tunnel syndrome.
Love you David Cook!!! I want to see you in concert but don’t want to have to sit through the other 9 contestants on the AI tour. I cannot wait to see and hear more from you.
Duane: I agree with what you said about Simon and how DC was so much better than DA (no surprise there). I think that everyone was pushing in DA direction that night though. Because Simon does really like DC, in all his interviews I’ve seen he always says that DC deserves to win this competition. There’s something fishy going on in Idol… and I don’t like it.
Oh, and on Jay Leno Simon was making fun of Fantasia’s song she did that one night. He said that he was terrified and the whole thing was just weird. That makes me laugh. ( :
I still maintain that Simon’s praise of Archuleta was a tactic to get David’s fans to vote longer and harder. Remember what he said on the night Carly was eliminated: His giving someone high praise is the “Kiss of Death.”
The only knockout last night was American Idol crushing David Cook. It was so obviously scripted from the get go, with Simon’s exaggerated pimping of DA and completely undeserved and overly harsh criticism of DC, who was flat out amazing.
After Simon’s first round comments, it was clear DA knew he was being pimped and DC knew he was being thrown under the bus, but DC continued on like the incredible artist he is. (Even DA, to his credit, has acknowledge this to the press, saying he didn’t know what was wrong with Simon.)
This was the first year I was drawn into American Idol, all because of Cook, and gotta say, it will be my last. DC has been a class act in every way from beginning to end, and AI threw him under the bus last night - over & over & over. AI has no integrity at all. They don’t deserve DC.
On the Dial Idol website, DC has won by a wide margin. If DC doesn’t win tonight, it will be clear that not only are the judges remarks rigged, the voting is, too.
Zabasearch has also officially declared David Cook to be the winner, albeit by a very narrow margin. I’m *still* not convinced, though (perhaps it’s the pessimist in me0, because if you add up the Zabasearch totals for each contestant, the number is always significantly lower than the number of total votes that Ryan announces at the beginning of the show. But it’s possible that Ryan simply exaggerates the vote counts.
I have listened and re-listened to the performances last night. Mr. Cook, you are a freak of nature, a mad genius. It amazed me how he took that hokey 2nd song and made it listenable. Any other contestant would have made a complete cacophony.
That aside the other two performances were sheer brilliance. The World I Know felt like I was being given a gift. Stunning.
As for the Judges stuff; there is more going on behind the scenes than any of us will ever know and it is probably better that way. No matter the results this evening brings, Mr. Cook has already won.
It’s doubtful that my dear Mr. C actually reads any of the things we say about him but if he were to by chance stumble across this humble post I would like him to know that I appreciate what he has done. My spark has returned for music, which had turned into a love/hate relationship for a while. Thank you sincerely from the cockles of my heart. I am eternally in your debt sir.
Coolshades: I saw the same results you did. Both polling sites had DC ahead. What’s up with all the DA won? Well, maybe not. I hate this torture. It will be over tonight one way or the other.
David Cook is happy no matter what. As long as he is happy, I am happy.

Drum roll please……..our official prediction on the winner of American Idol season 7, 2008 is…………….David Cook. As hard as the judges tried to narrow the gap, it looks as though all they were able to do was make the vote closer. Remember, going in to last nights performances, Cook had a lead. The judges tried their hardest to sway the vote, but it looks as though Cook pulled it out.
All of the polls with one exception, agree with us. The only poll that said otherwise, was a poll put out by the Ellen Degeneres show. In that poll, 6000 people voted and Archuleta had a 500 vote lead.
But the heavyweight polls, including Dial Idol all point towards David Cook. Likewise, tons of the smaller polls we have monitored for the finale, including the AOL users poll, all have David Cook winning.
Furthermore, the betting odds currently have Cook as a better than -230 favorite to win and it’s climbing. You can wager right now on this at bookmaker.com
Our research is a sampling of the voting public. Nothing scientific. Certainly no guarantees. However, we haven’t missed one yet. All indicators point towards David Cook in what they will probably call the closing voting results for a final in the history of the show.
WOO! WOO!!!! Now let’s see if they GIVE this to Archie! I cried when David cried last night..he was SOOOO amazing. And I loved the whole progression explanation. I am addicted for LIFE!!!!!There is NO 12 step program for this ( and I wouldn’t want to attend it anyway )We voted the whole 4 hours last night,got about 6000 votes in! I watched dial idol until the west coast phone lines closed, ( was waiting to see if the Utah vote made a diff ) and was ecstatic that he is the winner according to them.
We have never voted for a contestant like this before. I can’t wait for his cd!!!

Yes, what was up with Simon? Maybe, perhaps, his mouth got AI in trouble over him telling Leno that he thought our David was going to win, umm? You know, praise to the heavans our little d and when the votes are counted…the people stole the election! Poor Jeff Archuleta (daddy dearest) won’t be able to sue and all that kinda stuff.
It did occur to me that AI can be looked at as The Wizard of Oz, the Series. The Wizard hides behind the curtain week after week until May 21st, 2008. Paula is Dorothy (look at those red dancin’ shoes!) Randy is the cowardly lion (no courage), Ryan is the poorly suited scare crow (vapid, brainless) and Simon is the Tin Man (heartless).

I was trying to watch the results not pass out and miss them. Ooooooh he is just so damn HOT!!!! Let’s not forget the top 6 guys number with Bryan Adams and all of the little solos Mr. Cook had. Last night was truly truly smoking hot….Mr. Cook if you would only know what you do to me!!!! When Ryan announced him the winner…..I went through a whole box of Kleenex. The results show is supposed to be entertaining and suspenseful….but anymore and I’m going to have a nervous breakdown. I’m just elated our man came out on top. (No naughty thoughts now!!!) AHHHH, the day after!!! OMG!!!!! I have watched him get announced as the winner so many times today, and still cry. I have listened to “The Time of My life ” so much that I know all the words already. Man Tears get me every time. You know, I think he is too modest, and it may take a sledgehammer to that handsome little head for him to realize how much his fans LOVE him! I have never sat up all night to watch dial idol, or the vegas bookies. I think a bunch of his fans had a sleepless night!
Does anyone know of a way to get a card or letter to him???I want to thank him for wearing the orange bracelet for our little Lindsey Rose ( our fox broadcasters daughter was dx with Leukemia in Dec of last year, and she picked DC from the auditions. When Charley told him about her during top 12 interviews, he asked for a bracelet, he called Lindsey and she was OVER THE MOON! Charley was really choked up when he talked to him last night. If you get a chance look at Fox13 Tampa bay, they should still have the interview on the sight ) That is the kind of guy our DC is, every week he showed Lindsey that he was “Doing what you gotta do ” ( her motto ) and he NEVER TOOK THE BRACELET OFF!! Got to love him!He even would put it around his knuckles so she could see it.
