The Rock Report - May 9, 2008

Today is DAVID COOK DAY and we’re too busy celebrating to really update the site.  But when we read the DC said today is the “coolest day of his life,” we couldnt’ help but post it. Happy David Cook Day!!!!!

“In Kansas City, Mo., the crowds withstood wind and drizzle for a glimpse of the shaggy-haired and raggedy-voiced rocker Cook, a native of the suburb of Blue Springs. His hometown tour — during a day which Missouri and Kansas City officials declared ‘David Cook Day’ — started bright and early with TV appearances on the local Fox affiliate, followed by his late-morning appearance at the Power & Light District.

‘What are you guys doing here?’ Cook said, teasing the screaming crowd. ‘Guys, thank you, seriously. … I don’t know what else to say. This is the coolest day of my life.’”

  1. THANK YOU, “DAVID COOK” FOR HELPING ME AND THE BOY & GIRLS CLUB OF AMERICA!

  2. AWW how nice! (Above.) I spent most of the day watching the live broadcast online from the local FOX4 station. (Yes, I was working too. hah.) After the morning events, I stood up to go get some lunch. I almost just fell in the floor. My hands were shaking. I LOVE THIS MAN! OK I have to calm down because I must be able to go see him on the Idol tour and not pass out and miss him singing! He’s just a regular guy…with an incredible voice & talent…who writes music, songs, poetry…is smart & funny…and sweet…and gorgeous…oh yeah this is helping, I’m calm now. HOORAY for David and his trip home! It was SO COOL to watch it live!

  3. I was able to watch everything except the throwing of the first pitch at the baseball game. A great way to spend my Friday! :)

I loved the look on David’s face when he walked out on stage at the Power and Light District show. Priceless.

  4. DC such a pleasure - what a talent embodied in a man of real substance, personal and professional. I’m on board for this ride! Can’t wait for whats to come.
