Today’s a great day to be a David Cook fan! Our boy has made the top three and is getting ready to head home for a parade, concert, and baseball game. We couldn’t be more excited for DC and the DC Nation! We found this quote about DC’s talent and couldn’t agree more so we thought we’d post it for your reading pleasure.
“I decided this show’s just not built for daydreamers. To survive the Idol machine, you either need almost bulletproof talent (D.Cook), or the kind of ambition-fueled tunnel vision that omits any sense of self from the equation (Archie, Syesha).”
I’ve never given Missouri much thought before but I suddenly feel it would be a nice place to visit.
My best friend lives in Independence, and she’s going to try to go to the parade and take pictures for me. I visted her there a couple months ago, and now I wish I could be going back again this weekend. lol
BULLETPROOF TALENT is right!!!
I love watching American Idol this year because I feel like I am watching a star in the making and David Cook is that star.
Makes me think about the movie title, A Star is Born. Yes he has been!!!
Well he’s got bulletproof talent AND ambition on his side! This boy has WORKED HARD, for years, for this. And thank goodness, thank DAVID, that now we all know about him! I do hope he more than survives the Idol Machine. Geez. I cannot imagine the schedule and the pressure. Just a couple more weeks…of Idol anyway! Then he will have to contend with being a STAR for the rest of his life! I so wish I could be a true groupie right now and follow him around everywhere, just to get a handshake, a hug, an autograph….love him more every day!
Thank god American Idol has a very cool rock singer on this year. Cook has raised the bar so high for American Idol, the show many never be able to recover.
P.S. I think we need to write to Rolling Stone requesting David Cook on the Cover.
YES YES YES David on the cover of the Rolling Stone!!! What a great idea, MaryAnn. Let’s email them. Please please please, a David Cook cover. Fabulous. I’d probably need more than one copy. That paper gets kinda soggy after so much drool, ya know.

I just read in an AI forum that foxkc.com will be doing a live broadcast tomorrow. I believe the festivities start around 11AM. He’s supposed to be outta there by like 11:55 I think. You can also get more info at examiner.net which is the local Blue Springs area newspaper site.
Ok so now I know that I’m not the only one ‘obsessed’ with him lol. I thought it was pretty sad that I have an entire slideshow of every picture I could find of him online, plus all of his songs pre-Idol and during Idol. On the cover of Rolling Stone???? Hell yeah, that’s a good idea. And like Kath, I’d need more than one issue. Coolshades, I’d pay your friend for pics and pay you to post them! Why is it that I can’t get enough of this guy? I’m 26 and I feel like a little school girl whose heart flutters when I hear his voice or see a picture of him. I’d hate to see if I actually got the chance to meet him! My boss is almost 50 and she was like that with Daughtry. She actually got to go to one of his concerts and her husband thought she was nuts because she was jumping around and screaming. Oh have no fear….he WILL outlast Idol Mania and like I said before…he will surpass every prior Idol winner and runner up. He has worked really hard for years trying to get his career up and running. I really do think he deserves all the recogniton he is getting. I go on a website, http://www.rickey.org, to catch up if I happen to miss an episode of AI. Rickey posts all the videos, mp3s of the songs, and live blogs during the shows. One of the comments on this site was made by a New Zealander. This guy said that us fans in the U.S. need to really vote for David to win….it’s not just David depending on us but the whole world. And it’s true. David has fans from New Zealand, Malaysia, Canada, and Sinapore. That’s just for starters. The boy is already internationally known!! Now y’all tell me if he ain’t going to be a huge star and outlast AI!!! Love you, David…keep on rocking!

FLASH! 2 songs for next week for David: his choice, “The World I Know” by Collective Soul; judges’s choice (which Simon told him) “First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.” AAAAGGGHHHH. I’m getting goosebumps already thinking about David singing that 2nd song! I shall have to review his choice, can’t think of it right now. Appears to be rainy in Blue Springs MO right now on the live broadcast!

Rebecca, I know *exactly* what you mean. I literally spent all day at work yesterday looking for DC articles and pictures online. I didn’t have any work to do, either, so I didn’t even feel guilty about it
Hoping for a chance to meet him at the July 1 show in Glendale. But I don’t have the best luck in the world, so I doubt it will happen :S

I wish I could’ve watched the live broadcast, but I’m at work and we can’t view certain websites…like foxkc. Surf Control sucks really bad! Thanks for the info Kath. I absolutely love ‘The World I Know’. It’s an awesome song and it’ll be all the better because David’s going to sing it. I don’t think I know the other song though. Doesn’t matter what songs they are…he’s going to rock. Dang….Tuesday can’t get here fast enough. Oh well I guess I’ll just have to put my playlist with his songs on and just hit repeat like I’ve been doing. Geez that sounds so pathetic ;p ha ha ha don’t you just love him!!!!
I wanted to paste this with my earlier post but I couldn’t find it until a little while ago. Here’s the comments from that guy in New Zealand:
‘Hey everyone, I am from New Zealand; thank you Rickey for this site. I’m a lead singer of my own band, and from a musicians point of view; it’s no wonder that all these big names support David Cook. His artistic talent is what rock stars must possess.’
This guy was talking about another comment left by someone else. They were knocking David because they thought he stole some of the ‘original’ arrangements from some of the songs he sung, like Billie Jean. But David didn’t steal them. The producers cut out the interview part where he said the arrangements came from. Here’s another comment by the same guy:
I would also like to add this. All you fellow DC fans should understand this; it’s crucial:-
‘From what I’ve gathered, DC has fans from NZ(me!), Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. It’s CRITICAL that all his fans in America vote for him each week. I’m not exaggerating, the WHOLE WORLD depends on it.’

This is my first time watching Idol and I couldn’t be more grateful to be watching David Cook rise to the top. A legend coming to light.

Awwwwww that sucks, coolshades! But then again, wouldn’t you have been so jealous of her? I know I would’ve been! Well it’s ok. The DC team updated some of the photos and they are GOOD!!!! I am going to the taping on Tuesday and will be in the pit……2nd time going (I take my daughters cheer squad..they fill in the front row of the young cute girls …….he is so cute in person and so incredibly funny and sweet. My daughter told David at the last taping that “my mother lovese you” and he told her to tell me he said hello……..Rolling Stone cover…oh yeah! I feel 17 again.
Robin…you mean to tell me you get close enough to TOUCH him???? Wow….I’d would pass out cold if I got that close to him. Give us a shout out….and if you can….get David to shout at us too!!! So they ARE cheerleaders…..I said that to myself that those girls are really loud….I wonder if they are cheerleaders lol. Cool….you are one lucky woman!

I admit I have zero self control and I go to youtube and see all performances the morning after the show airs in the US… it airs only 2 days later here and I cannot wait that long!!!
You CANT believe how close we are…its the best ever! like 3 feet away, We talk to them during the commercials…so much goes on that you dont see that is sooooo funny…the “idols” are super funny espcially David C, Carly and Michael….during the Neil Diamond taping my daughter was front center blonde hair and dark green shirt…they recruit cheerleaders., dance squads, sorority girls…i cant believe we lucked into this…I signed up the squad like 3 years ago to do this and we finally get a chance…….the girls are soooo funny afterward they proclaim that it “is the best day of their entire life” So I will be there Tuesday, tall, blonde wearing black and grey…oh wait isnt that what David wears! hahahaahaha

I spent so much time today watching the feed on foxkc.com that I did pretty much zero studying for my upcoming final exam. If I get a bad grade, it’s David’s fault

To Robin: I heard it was American Woman too. That’s all over the place. I can’t wait to hear him sing the Robert Flack song. I hope he kicks it this week ,really hard. I think DA will get some sympathy because of the “Daddy” thing.
