The Rock Report - May 2, 2008

We thought this quote was appropriate for today since everyone in
“Cook has been incredible and it’s hard to tell what the future will hold and what song choices will be made. One thing is absolutely for sure. Cook will be the best this week. There is no way anyone can outperform him in this category. It’s like giving a professional baseball player a bat on ‘baseball night’ and throwing three other fans in the mix.”
TMZ is reporting that he will actually sing “Take Me Out To the Ballgame,” ’cause a bunch of little kids were already booked for the National Anthem, and “he didn’t feel comfortable bumping them.” Can I just say, “Awwwww. What a prince among men.”

Love the quote - no hyperbole in that analogy (!). Seems like DC isn’t a contestant anymore, but more a pro come back to pitch [cough] his latest CD.
That said, expectations will be higher for him this week, which makes me nervous, though I fully expect him to, er, knock it out of the park!
And I also read what Lisa mentioned, re DC singing “Take me Out to the Ball Game” instead. Er - song choice? How about singing “We Will Rock You” - with Michael Johns! Woot!
Don’t they usually sing “God Bless America” during the seventh-inning stretch these days? He could always sing that one.
I agree that David will definitely be in his element on Tuesday night. This theme has “David Cook” written all over it. But as ann said, that means the judges (and America) will be expecting more from him than from the other contestants. And I’m fully confident that he’ll deliver.
David will definately deliver this week. I have learned to have faith in him.
David Cook: Intriguing, intoxicating, delicious…
Love him.
I know I am waiting with bated breath for tomorrow night. When I first found out what theme this week was going to be, I just knew he had it in the bag. I think the producers may have even made this week for him, just to see what he can do. And he will blow them away like he’s been doing week after week. He is such a rocker and a star through and through, yet he still has a sweet and gentle side to him. I’d like to see him go completely raw and just rock out with one song, and see him just perform with his heart on his sleeve and completely vulnerable the next. To have him do that would solidify any doubts anyone has about him. I know I don’t doubt him for a second. I love this guy! He is what REAL music and artistry is about.
Ditto, Rebecca! Are you the same Rebecca who had a running commentary on some reviews on Analog Heart? Sounds like you!
I live for Tuesdays, to see what David is going to do. And Wednesdays, when I get to see him again…on TV, darn it. I’m not even going to try to guess what he might do because I haven’t ever been right and he just blows me away EVERY time, every performance. A real rocking number and a rocking ballad would be very cool. Whatever he does, he shares his heart & soul with us every time. And I love it and can’t get enough! Love you, David. Voting for you too!
Kath, nope sorry I’m not the same Rebecca…..I wish I could’ve been though. I did, however, download everything David did pre-Idol. From Analog Heart to his days with Axium to The Midwest Kings. He has come a long way, and it’s time for America to see this guy for who he is….a geniune gem. I too live for Tuesdays and Wednesdays…but I dread the finale. Not that I don’t think he’ll win, but that I know once the finale is over, I won’t hear from him until he cuts his first CD post Idol. That’s going to kill me! It would be nice if the AI tour would be even remotely close to where I am…but no dice. Can’t wait for tonight……
