And now another comment about how brilliant David Cook is…

“David Cook. My favorite, he remains. And I think he was brilliant to choose a couple of lesser-known Neil Diamond songs, which he could present as modern-ish rockers without having to borrow something else from Chris Cornell. I suppose I agree with the judges that his second song was better than his first, but I liked them both. And I find that he’s the only remaining contestant who truly puts it on the line when he sings - pushes his voice, pushes his emotions. (David Archuleta can sound emotional, too, but it always feel robotic to me: calculated and a little bit too perfect.)”

  1. Wow you rock Boston Globe, give it up for our man DC!! He brought down the house tonight…what else can I say?!?!

  2. Though not a fan of much of the generic musical talent showcased by AI (save a select few), I feel truly grateful for the opportunity to witness a real star in the making–David Cook! What an engaging performer with the most beautiful voice and tone. And from what I have read, also a down to earth, good man who has cultivated many loyal friends. Makes me proud. I’ll be looking out for this fellow!

  3. Ditto above from Pepper. David Cook. My favorite, he remains. A rocker, he remains. A musician, he remains. A singer, he remains. A songwriter, he remains. A word nerd, he remains. A sexy dork, he remains. A presence in the music industry, he will be. David Cook, he remains. Love him, I do. :-)

  4. David always has the best performance of the night no matter what the theme of the week is. Back during Mariah Carey week, I was scared for him…thinking that he wouldn’t do really well with nothing but diva songs to choose from. But he completely blew me away that week, as with every week before and after. I almost wanted to kick myself for letting that doubt get to me. I loved his first song last night….and found myself melting during his second song. His passion for music emits through every song he sings and that’s what has made me fall head over heels in love with him. I don’t have a doubt in my mind that he will surpass every American Idol winner and runner ups in the years to come. Keep on rocking, David….that’s why we love you.

  5. Ditto on the kudos. I’ll add - if anyone knows DC, could you hustle him back to the studio & get him to record the studio version of All I Really Need is You? It was effin’ fantastic, deserves radio play, would top the charts and sound very, very good on my iPod.

Allowing DC to record only one of his 2 or 3 songs a week from here on out is cruel & unusual punishment for those of us who need more than a leaky faucet drip of his music.
