The Rock Report - April 28, 2008

Welcome back dear and devoted DC fans! We here at the DC Fan Team hope you had a wonderful weekend, and we doubly hope that you rested those tired little thumbs, because we have a lot of voting to do tomorrow night! Please pass the word - support for David A. and Jason C. is strong as ever, and we will have to fight the 13 year old powers that be to keep DC in this competition. To that end, thanks to our loyal fan Mary for letting us know that they have put a Pre-Sale back up on Amazon for Analog Heart. She is encouraging everyone to “stop downloading his music for free and show Idol the demand for AH.” We think that’s a pretty keen idea. And now for our favorite media quote from the weekend…

“Well helloooooo there, Mr. Cook. Phantom of the Opera, huh? I wasn’t worried. ”Music of the Night” has put many in the vocal grave, yet he brought it home. His wardrobe still stayed true to his rocker side. He impresses me more and more every week… He nailed every high note!!!!!!!…FANFREAKINTASTIC!”

  1. Glad you all are back! I was lucky enough to download Analog Heart before it was pulled AND I have already asked to be notified when the CD is available for sale. And I’ll probably BUY IT! I’d love to have the artwork. YES, I shall be voting and I’m getting everyone else I can to vote too, even people who have not been interested in Idol in past seasons. Can’t wait to see what His Idolness does this week. The Cookie. DC. Mr. Cook. David, sugar. Love you, DC!

  2. I will probably bring on arthritis at a young age with all the dialing I have been doing. I absolutely love this guy…..can’t get enough of him. I have already downloaded all of Analog Heart, plus I was able to find some previous work with Axiom and the Midwest Kings. All of his music is brilliant. I really can’t wait to see him blow Neil Diamond away. And then, we get not 1 but 2 songs from him this week. I can’t wait!! It’s just too bad that the American Idol tour isn’t coming anywhere near where I am because I would definitely go just to see him. He is freaking awesome….I just love him to death!

  3. I can’t wait to see what he’ll do this week… If only I could vote from Canada!

Thanks for keeping us all updated, and for keeping it fun!

  4. Could I ask everyone to chip in a vote for me? I’m in the UK so it isn’t possible for me to dial myself… although I did try a couple of weeks ago, and it said the number was unavailable! Damnit.
And yes, you’ve noticed too that Jason Castro’s got a pretty strong ‘tween’ fanbase that is potentially very dangerous… they must be stopped!
But regardless of whether or not David Cook wins, he will no doubt have the most successful career out of anyone this season.
Still, it would be pretty amazing for him to be the guy who broke the classic American Idol ‘mold’ and became the first rock musician to be crowned the winner. Take that, Daughtry! Haha.

    DAVID COOK FTW!!!

  5. Is this the first week they do two songs a night? I thought that started next week.

After seeing last week how big of a fan base Brooke and Jason really have (both deserved to be eliminated last week, imo), I’ve decided to double my vote count from now on…and maybe even triple it in the last couple of weeks if think I can pull it off (those phone lines get packed once the Californians start calling in). I’m hoping the majority of DC fans do the same thing, and then we’ll still stay way ahead of the Brooke and Jason fans…and hopefully the David A. fans as well.

  6. Yeah, coolshades, the Jason and Brooke fans will have me doubling up, too. And to think I had never voted before DCook.

  7. TWO Songs?!? OMG… I really hope so!

  8. I had never voted before David, either! In fact, I had never even watched the show before this season. I picked the right season to start watching :)

  9. well, thanks for acknowledging my input…….good job guys!!
